The Free Linux CD Project, which was an initiative to send FREE Linux CDs to people who could not otherwise get them, has been discontinued.

Although the project was a net success, nowadays there is simply too many better ways to get a Linux CD all around the world. This is mostly aided by Ubuntu's Ship It program where Canonical will send anybody one or more copies of their latest Ubuntu distribution.

On the other hand our domain name and the visitors it gets may be put the good use by Canonical, another free OS distribution or a free to low-cost distributor of free OS CDs. Please contact oktaya<>gmail.com if you are interested in cooperating with us in this fashion.

In a way the huge success of Linux itself and the proliferation of broadband Internet access have brought our effort to a natural end. We think we are all better off in the end. We thank everyone who have supported us over the years. It has been a great experience.

Other ways to get a free or low cost Linux CD:

The Debian CD Project

"The Debian CD Project (debiancd.org) is an independent, non-profit project to promote the using of the Debian GNU/Linux. The goal is to give for people nice, and professionally made Debian GNU/Linux installation discs. Currently the first CDs of the latest stable release are available on the website of the project. You can decide how much you want to pay for these disks, if there is some profit, it goes to the Debian Project. They are shipping worldwide."
